meet the orthodontist

Dr. Leiker grew up in the Texas Panhandle area and went to South Plains Junior College in his hometown of Levelland, Texas and then to Texas Tech University. He attended the University of Texas San Antonio Dental School where he earned his dental degree and the University of Oklahoma for his orthodontic residency.

Dr. Leiker knew that he wanted to go into orthodontics from the time he was in Junior High School. He realized what a big difference orthodontic therapy made in his self-esteem and how he felt about his smile. He decided that he wanted to try to help other people in the same way.

Dr. Leiker met his wife, Dana, while attending dental school in San Antonio. She was in the nursing program at that time. She is now a registered nurse, and she has also worked as Dr. Leiker's financial manager since he opened his practice in The Woodlands in 1994.

The Leikers have two children, Brad and Lauren, who are both currently in high school. Brad was born in San Antonio during Dr. Leiker's senior year of dental school, and Lauren was born in Oklahoma City at the end of Dr. Leiker's orthodontic residency. Brad enjoys golf and plays on the high school golf team, and Lauren loves dancing and plans on being one of the well-known Highsteppers. Both would like to go on to Texas A&M upon graduation from High School. They both help work in the office during the summer breaks also.

The family enjoys spending time together doing things like going to the movies, golfing at one of the local golf courses, swimming in the pool, or working in the yard around the house. The kids also enjoy spending time on the computer or playing X-Box 360.

Dr. Leiker loves the orthodontic profession. He likes getting to work with kids, teenagers, and adults. It is a wonderful opportunity to get to meet and know many different people of all types of backgrounds. It is also a very satisfying profession because he gets to see what a big difference it makes in so many people's lives to have the beautiful smile they have always wanted.
